"I don't think our attitude turned up on the day to be honest," he said.
"We were the reason we came second both with our efforts with the bat early, bowling wasn't great and fielding was horrific.
"It all comes down to us and that is what we get.
"It is just a shame two people were able to get out of single figures."
Those two people were Joey Ryan and Brandon Landsborough - the former belting 60 to get his side past the 100-mark on the scoreboard after Guyra were sitting at 6-26 early on in the piece.
Ryan stuck at the crease for the duration of Landsborough's innings and did his job to score 19.
"And that 19 probably deserved that outfield on that outfield. He had to work hard for it," White said. 3
"Joey is going to be a good cricketer, he'll open the batting one day so to see what he did there was promising.
"He is just as good as a bowler too."
Both City and Guyra hadn't played at the Sportsground this season but they got the chance to in the major semi-final. City's bowlers were on fire early with Triebe sending Shane Wolfenden for a golden duck.
Chris Wild then secured the wicket of Guyra number three Troy Martin for seven runs before Triebe sent his counterpart Charlie White packing for one shortly after.
Triebe had his third with BJ Cameron trapped leg-before-wicket on three, then Wild snared Demielle Landsborough for one.
Matt Finlay was the next to depart off Triebe's bowling.
But then up stepped Landsborough and Ryan for their partnership.
Landsborough belted four sixes and two fours on his way to 60 while Ryan pulled off a patient 19 before Wild snared the two of them.
Tyson Burey added five runs and was caught off Andrew Skinner's bowling.
Jake Ellis was run out on one while Mitch Woods remained at the crease on four not out as their side made 118.
When it was their turn to field, Guyra struggled.
"It was a score we knew we could have defended," White said.
"We also took 10,000 kilograms of butter with us on the field so catches went down.
"We dropped Kyle and Ash for zero and two.
"Whenever we have let an opening partnership on our opponents get away from us during the year, we haven't looked like winning.
"When we have grabbed early wickets, we have won all our games."
In their run chase, City's openers Ash Clee and Kyle Taylor got things going quickly. Clee smacked a quick-fire 35 before he was bowled by BJ Cameron while Taylor's innings ended when he was trapped lbw by Cameron as well.
Jake Ellis fired up for Guyra and took three wickets in quick succession.
White credited Ellis and Landsborough for getting them back in with a chance but City's Matt Bryant made 21 not out as they managed to chase down the runs six down.
Guyra still have a chance to make the final with a preliminary final clash against Hillgrove this Saturday.
Guyra be without a host of players in the do-or-die semi-final match against Hillgrove, who got the better of Easts on Sunday.
White will be absent along with Ben Jackson.
The positive news for them is players from the Guyra second grade side are available after they scored a convincing win over The Armidale School in their semi-final and are through to the grand final.
Guyra batted first and made 251.
Corey Torrens top-scored for the side with an innings of 77 which included eight sixes and three fours.
Jake Davies also had a blast with 68 including four fours and seven sixes.
Heath Dowsett was the next best with his opening stand of 28.
With the ball, it didn't take long for Guyra to strike with Justin McKay claiming the TAS opening batsman.
McKay finished with 1-26, Torrens 1-48, Davies 2-17 and Dowsett 3-36 as Guyra restricted TAS to 7-217 to take the win.
Guyra's third grade side bowed out of the finals race after being beaten by Hillgrove.
Batting first, Guyra were bowled out for 56, Craig Lockyer and Andrew Pearson the only two batsmen to make double figures with 18 and 11.
With the ball, Tim Brazier managed 3-5 off eight overs, Allan Boney 2-6 off two overs, Simon Brown 2-6 from eight overs and Cody Patterson 1-27 off 5.2.
In juniors, the Guyra under-14 and under-12 sides scored wins while the under-10 Guyra Black sits atop of their ladder and Guyra Red sits fifth.
