The Wholesome Collective (TWC) was founded by accredited practising dietitian Kerryn Boogaard, and Home Economist Mary Wills. The company received funding from Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network to conduct workshops in drought affected communities.
Last month Armidale Regional Council hosted TWC to run an event for Guyra youth during the school holidays.
"The Wholesome Collective un-complicates things and makes wholesome eating enjoyable," said Ms Wills.
"We decided to utilise the wellbeing grant we received to educate the drought affected communities by offering hands on cooking classes for the children and presentations for the adults.

"Our aim was to offer this style of nutrition and cooking education to people living in isolated areas and we were overwhelmed by the appreciative attitudes of everyone we met."
Ms Wills said all of the workshops were well attended with a positive response from the children, their parents and the adults who attended the presentations.
"There was a resounding comment at every event that the participants wished that more people had taken the opportunity to come along as they felt the information was life changing," she said.
"We reached over 200 people at the nine events held and every participant received our nutrition and cook book which will ensure access to our healthy eating message with reassuring information and recipes to support the time we shared with them."
There is a chance the grant will be rolled out again towards the end of this year.
"If that is the case, we will definitely be applying again and have already developed a plan around reaching as many people as possible in the time we have," Ms Wills said.
