Former Governor General, Major-General Michael Jefferies and National Farmers president Fiona Simson are both fine advocates via active support for farmer participation in government-sponsored soil sequestration and biodiversity stewardship programs. Aspiring contestants for the seat of New England could have, or get, some enthusiasm for this cause too, and lift the standard of pre-election debate towards the maintenance and even survival of our long-term natural capitalism.
The 60 year Keeling Centre records indicate a losing long-term trend towards the example of a final death knell for our barrier reef from Co2 induced ocean acidity if it reaches 450 parts per million.
During the northern hemisphere summer period their forests are photosynthesising and actually reversing the trend. Increased regenerative farming during the southern hemisphere summer could also do the same thing and help to steady the climate problem.
