Suamarez Homstead will hold its annual Australia Day Fun Fair again this year, with free entry to the grounds, gold coin tours of the homestead and lots of, well, fun, up for grabs on the day.

Saumarez Homestead property manager for the National Trust Les Davis said the day was a chance for people to go out and have a look around and see what was going on.
“We’ll have gold coin tours of the downstairs part of the house just to give people a quick look, and for those who want to do the full tour, they’re still on at 10.30am, 2pm and 3.30pm,” he said.

“We’ll have a barbecue, a cafe and quite a few activities for the kids as well.
Les sadi the fun day had been running for about 30 years.
“Perhaps even longer,” he said.
“The trust took over in 1984 and and in 1987 they strated having events. But for at least the last 10 years they’ve been having something on Australia day.
“The National Trust across the nation hold events at National Trust properties on the day.”
