Women’s golf

On August 22, bracing winds blew over the Guyra Golf Course as the lady golfers competed in a single stableford event sponsored by Julie Walker.

Wendy Jackson won the competition, scoring 42 stableford points, which included a blitzing score on the front nine holes. Meg Simpson was the runner-up with 37 points. Nearest-the-pin on the 18th hole was shot by Vicki Reeves.

On September 5, three teams will compete in the VW Scrambler at the Inverell Golf Course while a single stableford is set down for Guyra. The draw for Kirk’s Match Play Trophy is on the board. The first round should be completed by September 20.

Men’s golf

With the rain more important than the golf, there was no play again on Sunday.

Clear conditions are forecast for this week for an 18-hole par for the Captain’s Day straight after the club AGM.
