A quantity of diesel was taken from several machines parked in a compound on Blackjack Road Gunnedah, near Bushs Lane, between 6.30pm on June 19 and 6.30am the following day.
Oxley Inspector Michael Wurth told The Namoi Valley Independent it would be difficult to say how much fuel was stolen.
“From what we understand the petrol was taken from the parked heavy machines and not from a bowser or anything like that,” Inspector Wurth said.
“So at this stage it remains unknown how much petrol was taken or how it was taken.”

Inspector Wurth urged locals to continue to secure their property.
“I think most people are doing a good job in taking proactive steps to prevent crime,” he said.
