It was the first time the two sides had met after their round two encounter was called off.
Narwan were searching for their second win of the season and made their intentions clear early but it was the the host side who came out in front, pulling off a 28-10 win.
“You have got to give Narwan credit, they turned up and came out firing,” Magpies’ captain-coach Nick Say said.
“They defended really well.
“It is surprising to see how far down the table they are.”
While they took the two points, Say believes it wasn’t an impressive performance by his side.
“We gave away a few silly errors deep in our own half which gave them a bit of a chance,” he said.

“It wasn't the best win, it was a scrappy win.
“It is always good to get a win anyway, that is the main thing.”
For the Magpies, Brendan Blaker crossed three times in a game where the forwards proved the difference.
“Daniel Cheers and Guy Mepham, had their usual week-in, week-out [performance],” Say said.
“Our young fullback had a good game, Luke Hodgson, his talk was exceptional at the back.
“Always in the right spot at the right time, he read the game well.
“He helped our defence out too, just pushing players around – his talk was really good.”
The Group takes a break for the long weekend with no scheduled fixtures before returning on June 16 with the Magpies at home for their Old Boys’ Day.
The senior club will combine with the minor league for the day with under 8s through to A grade running out at Mead Park.
