After a 48-16 crushing of a 14-man Warialda in round seven, the Spuds rolled a wounded Tenterfield Tigers in round eight.
Tenterfield hit the road to Guyra missing their usual halves pairing of Brendan Minns and Jarrod McIntosh and were punished early when Spuds’ winger Brock Laybutt latched on to a wayward pass to run 80 metres and score.
Injuries hit the visiting side and it took them until six minutes to half-time to score through centre Tom Landers.

At the break the scores were level at 6-all.
The second stanza saw the hosts muscle up early with three tries in the first 10 minutes and Tenterfield couldn’t catch up.
Two minutes in, Liva Sili bustled through for a converted try.
A couple of minutes later Guyra captain-coach Dan Vidler busted the line, found Rodney Bull in support who linked up with Alipate Kaufana to score.
It took only two minutes after the restart for Guyra to find Brad Waters out wide to dive over in the corner.
Another minute later, Waters raced 60 metres to add another four points to his name.
The 13th minute of the second-half saw Jayden Field cross for the Spuds before the visitors hit back through Levi McGrady.
Kaufana sealed the match with another try five minutes from the siren for the Spuds to take a 40-10 win.
Our first-half, we just had no ball,” halfback Anthony Dittman said.
“Back-to-back penalties hurt us a fair bit.
“We just came out in the second-half with our heads screwed on, just got a lot more possession, dominated them and gave them a good, old whopping.”
Despite dominating the second-half, there were still aspects of the game which disappointed the Guyra side.
“Discipline, ball control, the score was a bit of a blowout so we just thought we could throw it a bit more, we have to cut that out and stick to structured play,” Dittman said.
