“This is an excellent opportunity to showcase some of UNE Music’s talented students and alumni,” Dr Alana Blackburn, UNE Music staff member, said.
“We invite members of the community to come and stroll around the Armidale CBD, and listen to local musicians and performers, celebrating the rich musical community we live in.”
On show will be music from rock bands, classical music, jazz, pop, indie, soul, folk, country, and everything in between.
Local food retailers will also be encouraged to open and provide families with a relaxed outdoor dining experience.
The Live and Local initiative is part of a NSW Government drive to take micro-music festivals to the bush for the first time. Armidale Regional Council was one of eight regional councils to receive funding from Create NSW to host a Live and Local event during 2017/2018.
Live Music Office on behalf of Create NSW administers Funding, which is used to cover the cost of fees for musicians, curators, and technicians involved in the events.
