Guyra Central School’s annual primary swimming carnival was held last Thursday and students who attended were commended for their sportsmanship, behaviour and for the overall participation on the day.

As a result of participation, Nincoola was declared the winning house for the day.
House Captains received the Good Sport Award on behalf of all students who attended the swimming carnival in recognition of all the student’s efforts for the carnival at this week’s morning assembly.
Congratulations to the Age Champions: Junior Girl Champion Elizabeth Evers; Junior Boy Champion Darcey Heagney; 11 Years Girl Champion Sophie Mitchell; 11 Years Boy Champion Cooper Wilson; Senior Girl Champion Maddison Bull; and Senior Boy Champion Cooper Brennan.
Mark Evers, Jo Dullaway, Rebecca Tibbs, Natasha Saunders and Rebecca Montague assisted at the carnival and parents, family and friends were there to cheer the students on during the carnival. Thank you to Mr Steve Alletsee for organising the carnival and all the primary staff team for their hard work on the day.
The Secondary Swimming Carnival was held on Wednesday and the atmosphere was outstanding with secondary students dressed in their house colours and being very creative with costumes.
Students participated in their age groups for a variety of events including 25, 50 and 100 metre freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly along with 4x50m individual medleys and a 4x50m freestyle relays in both junior and senior divisions.
