The Walcha Mountain Festival is on again this weekend, and one of the highlights will be a performance by Armidale born and bred singer Goldheist ( Hester Fraser) who will showcase her recently launched album Realm. Ms Fraser is now based in Sydney and will be performing on Sunday with Armidale musicians Jessica Stocker (percussion) and Kerry Watson (violin).

The festival starts with events centred around McHattan Park on Saturday including the Farmers Market, Billy Cart Derby, Trash and Treasure Market and the PKF Walcha Road Ride Challenges for mountain bike enthusiasts.
On Sunday the action moves to the grounds of Langford House, a stately Edwardian mansion, with tours of the house every hour and plenty to see and do in the garden for those not taking part in the fundraising bike ride for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter which starts and ends here.
While Goldheist plays there are plenty of stalls to peruse as well as vintage cars on display, remote-controlled model boats on the lake and a quilt exhibition in the woolshed.
Children will be entertained with free activities including bush croquet, face-painting, an egg throwing competition and jumping castle.
