The Guyra school girl performed in a featured classical group.
“I was away for one week and it was amazing,” the ballet dancer said.
“There were so many kids there and just having the opportunity to perform in front of a big audience was really amazing.”
Savannah has been dancing for 11 years and said she had tried all styles but ballet was her favourite.
“I met lots of people from Sydney and then in the group I was in there was also some country kids and people from all around NSW,” she said.
The local star wasn’t scared on stage but described the experience as “exhilarating”.
“I didn’t get nervous … seeing so many people in the audience was great,” she said.
When asked what her friends, family and school thought of her special experience, Savannah said “they’re really proud”.
“I would love to encourage other regional students to audition because it’s a great opportunity, especially to build your confidence” she said.
Savannah’s mum, Natasha Roberts said she was thrilled with her daughter’s effort.
“I think it was a great experience and a boost of confidence to know that regional students can do this if they want to,” Ms Roberts said.
“It was unreal … there was a lot of travelling throughout the year for rehearsals because Savannah was in the feature ensemble but it was worth it because she loves it.”
Ms Roberts said she first put Savannah into dance because she was shy.
“I did to boost her confidence and it did,” she said.
“I’d like to thank Guyra Central School for the support that they have given throughout the year.”
New England students performing at Schools Spectacular also became world record breakers as members of the huge choir in the world’s largest amateur variety performance.
Schools Spectacular Executive Producer Jane Simmons congratulated everyone in the triumph.
“With more than 5000 performers ... it was an unbelievably massive show and the audiences were thrilled,” Ms Simmons said.
