Secretary of the Guyra Chamber of Commerce Aileen MacDonald said the winner in its section of the New England Business Awards to be held at the Armidale Town Hall on September 21 would be one of the last awards to be handed out on the night.

“There are two finalists that I know of, the Guyra and District Chamber of Commerce and Gunnedah Chamber of Commerce,” she said.
Aileen said the winner of the event will go on to the State finals where the opposition consists of all the other regional finalists.
“We think it’s cool because this will be the third year we have been a finalist and we haven’t ever made it to become a winner, so who knows,” she said.

“And we continue to have discussions with our current council, just to make sure that Guyra is not forgotten about when we are talking about Armidale as a region.”
