Students held an exciting performance for family, friends and teachers.
The arts-inspired night showcased a range of dance, drama and choir performances that students, between kindergarten and year six, had been working on throughout the year.
The event also marks the wrap-up of a successful year and provides the opportunity to look back on what students have learnt creatively and what milestones have been met over the past 12 months, said St Mary of the Angels project and kindergarten teacher Matilda Paton.
“The night was definitely a great success,” Ms Paton said.
“The kids were preparing and were really excited to present.”
Ms Paton said students had been working hard for a long time to present to family and friends.
“They have been working really hard all year for this performance,” Ms Paton said.
“We had a whole range of things from drama performances, we had dance performances and we had two performances from our whole school choir, so it was a really great event.”
Staff and teachers also complimented the students that participated and said the event captured what students had learnt in dance, drama and music throughout the year.
Some highlights of the night was a performance by the year five and six students who took centre stage with a reenactment of the famous Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie.
The year three and four cohort performed a Grease “MegaMix” dance while the year one and two students performed a Hey Little Ant drama, as well as kindergarten's Wombat Wobble Dance and transition's Little Einsteins dance.
Ms Paton said everyone involved was proud of the talent presented on the night.
“It is an annual event and generally the performances and the items that are presented on the night ... the kids have worked on all throughout the year as part of our creative arts program,” Ms Paton said.
Students and teachers are now preparing for the Christmas school holidays.
School will officially conclude for 2016 on December 16 and will return in 2017 on Monday January 30.
