Principal Mrs Jo Burgess said she knew the results would be good, and when the results came through on Wednesday morning she was ‘over the moon’.
The highest achiever was Austin Youman who achieved three band 6 and three band 5 results. While ATARs won’t be available until Thursday, Mrs Burgess said that they are expecting a high-level mark.
“This is a great achievement for the whole class,” she said. “Across the board the results have been outstanding, with a total of 16 band 5 results.”
“Importantly I am pleased to see that there were no low band results, and the whole cohort of students should be proud of their achievements.”
“This is a result of hard work by the students involved and also good teaching and a culture of learning at Guyra Central School.”
The annual presentation night was held last Thursday night celebrating the continued academic, sporting and citizenship successes of students from K-12.
Austin was the 2015 School Captain and received a number of awards including Dux of Year 12, University of New England and University of Newcastle Award for Academic Excellence, Caltex Best All-Rounder Award, Public speaking award, Special History Prize and ADF Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award
