Logan Mendes and Luca Little, daughter and son of two of the club’s long standing loyal players, have spent a fair share of time travelling to and from doctor’s appointments and hospitals of late.
Logan was set to make her debut into the world of Guyra soccer earlier this year, when her illness prevented her from playing.
While Luca is too young to play, he will no doubt take to the field one day in the orange and black.
Brooke Brennan said that as a way of supporting the two families, this weekend Guyra junior players are being asked to wear something red as they take the field.
The club will be running raffles and cupcake stalls and having a few other fundraising activities during our junior fixtures.
The afternoon will see the three senior sides take the field, also in red socks.
“We hope to see one and all join us for a family afternoon with champagne and nibbles as well as full canteen facilities and again fundraising activities for this good cause,” Brooke said.
“We have been fortunate to receive support from the community in way of donations - huge thanks must go to Gary and Sandy Morgan, Karan Wildman as well as Wayne and Debbie Mendes who have kindly contributed to our raffle.
“Thank you to Joseph and Wendy George for your kind contribution and sponsorship of the event.”
Soccer players, their families and friends, as well as the wider community are invited to join the fun and support this great cause.
