Joyce Betts played magnificent golf to win the Stableford last Wednesday with 41 points. (She will be my great playing partner in the 4BBB at Inverell tomorrow.)
Runner up was Kath Varley with 33 points.
Nearest the pin on the 10th was Meg Simpson who hit an accurate drive to within in 985 centimetres of the pin. Did you sink the putt Meg?
We congratulate the team of Guyra Veterans who valiantly won the district competition at Walcha. There are some excellent players amongst them who, like red wine, improve with age.
Next week’s golf is the Foursomes Championships for the Gittoes’ Family Trophy. The starter is Jenny Shiels.

Sunday, 24 May saw three Club Championship matches played (all singles).
The first of these was between B Betts and C Stanley in Handicap Singles. With Bill up against a seasoned campaigner, this was always going to be tough.
Col caught up the deficit and hit the lead after nine ends. As good and as hard as Bill played, Col seemed to have the right answers, going away with a 31-14 victory.
Then B Walls and M Shiner took to the green in an Open Singles encounter.
Barry opened the scoring with a two. Mick then strung a few ends together, going out to a 12-2 lead.
From here on, everything Barry threw at Mick, Mick had a reply. Final score 31-12 to Mick.
The last of the day saw D Lyes take on W Reeves in Minor Singles.
For the first 18 ends it pretty much went to and fro, with Wayne hanging to a 14-13 lead.
David then jumped out to a lead of 22-14. Wayne came back a tad to be trailing 17-22 before David jumped again, finally tasting victory by 31-19.
