The first match saw A Sparke, E Sole, B Sole and S Sole take on J Pennell, B Presnell, C Peardon and S Campbell.
Shots were pretty much at a minimum and after nine ends, Andrew, Evan, Braden and Steven held a 9-4 lead. After 15 ends, the scores were level at 12 apiece.
It was at this stage that John, Barry, Cameron and Scott pounced and ran away with victory to the tune of 22-15 after the mandatory 21 ends.
Next, it was game-on between W Reeves, I Reid, G Reeves and R Moore against the team of B Betts, M Shiner, D Wilcox and J McIllwain.
After seven ends Bill, Mick, David and John held a slender 8-5 lead.
Then Wayne, Ivel, Geoff and Robert jumped and by end 15 held a comfortable lead of 21-10.
This was where Bill, Mick, David and John came back and by end 20 had drawn level, and on the last end scored to take the match by 25-21.
The last encounter saw R Walls, P Johnson, M Bourke and J Jackson do battle with G Starr, G Mitchell, C Stanley and D Kennedy.
Graham, Greg, Col and Dan came out blazing, going to an early 7-1 lead, only to see Robert, Paul, Murray and John claw back and then surge to an 18-11 lead at the half-way mark.
By end 14 scores were level at 18-all. They then went end for end and after 20 ends and with one to play (you guessed it) 21-all.
After the completion of 21 enthralling ends Graham, Greg, Col and Dan fell over the line by 22 shots to 21.
So, after all the dust had settled, the finalists for this year’s Club Fours are: Graham Starr, Greg Mitchell, Col Stanley and Dan Kennedy up against Roger Cox, Mick Shiner, David Wilcox and John McIllwain to be played at a later date.
