Palmer United Party Senator Jacqui Lambie has been dropped as deputy Senate leader after failing to attend party meetings.

The move by party leader Clive Palmer comes after weeks of internal turmoil in the party. The Tasmanian senator was the party's deputy leader in the Senate before her demotion.

EARLIER: She may still be a Palmer United Party member, but Senator Jacqui Lambie has dropped the party logo and name from her website.

The Tasmanian senator is engaged in a war of words with PUP leader Clive Palmer, who has accused her of being a "drama queen".

There is speculation she could quit the party as early as this morning.

Senator Lambie says Mr Palmer is not doing enough to support issues that are important to her, such as the Tasmanian economy and a better pay deal for Defence personnel.

Her website states "Jacqui Lambie, Putting Tasmania First". While using PUP's yellow theme colour, the site does not mention the party.

The authorisation on the page says: "Senator Jacqui Lambie - Advocate for Australian war veterans and injured soldiers. Looking after Tasmania's unemployed."

It is in stark contrast to PUP Senate leader Glenn Lazarus's website which is authorised by "Senator Glenn Lazarus Palmer United Party" and names the party at the top of the page.

Her chief of staff Rob Messenger was expelled from the party last week.
