After a hiatus in 2019, they announced plans to return to the Group 19 fold for 2020 and formed an enthusiastic committee, appointed coaches and began making plans to field three grades - under-18s, league tag and men's.
Anthony Dittman will coach the men's side, Beau Orchard will mentor the under-18s and Britt Youman and Peter Presnell are co-coaches of the league tag.
They held a handful of training sessions before Christmas and returned to the paddock this year with a bang.
Super Spuds president Britt Youman said signs are positive so far with last week seeing as many as 50 players turning up for pre-season training.
"We have massive numbers in girls and 18s and good numbers with men's," she said.
"We have a a lot of new recruits, not as many older faces I would say.
"Lots of young boys who used to play juniors with Guyra and are now able to return because there's a side with us.
"Lots of different people, it's good to see so many new people wanting to play with us.
"Everyone is so excited, including the town, that Guyra is going to have a rugby league side again!"
Off-the-field, the committee have been busy preparing and planning.
Youman said everything is coming together.
"Coming along very smoothly," Youman said.
"We've had lots to buy and organise but I think we're pretty good now.
"Our jerseys have been ordered and look amazing which people can have a look at on our Facebook page."
The Group 19 season is set to start in April.
A draft draw was released last month but two clubs - Walcha and Uralla - have opted to play in Group 19 and it will be re-released in coming weeks.
Although the season starts in April, the Super Spuds will hit the field earlier.
They have planned a trip to the coast to face Old Bar for a trial match.
"We're having a trial at Old Bar on the 28th of March and would love to see some locals down there supporting us!" Youman said.
