"Guyra is in a pretty dire situation in relation to the drought, and a lot of the farmers are suffering," Rotarian Wendy Mulligan said.
Many farmers' dams have dried up, they're feeding stock every day, and rain hasn't come.
"There just doesn't seem to be any end in sight for the local farmers," Ms Mulligan said. "We thought it would be a good idea to get the farmers together, and have a social gathering."
The event runs from 11am to 3pm. Local Rotarians will barbecue, and serve homemade slices and cakes, cups of tea, and cold drinks.
The day will be a break from routine, Ms Mulligan said, so farmers can relax for a little while, without having to worry about feeding, at least for a couple of hours.
"At a time like this, you worry about the emotional effect this is having on the farmers," Ms Mulligan said.
Counsellors will be available if they need to talk, or want to make appointments.
Representatives from the Hub at Guyra, the Salvation Army, and Hunter New England Health would be present, Ms Mulligan said, as well as local doctors and psychologists.
"Support's around if you need it," she said, "and we can steer people in the right direction to get grants and support, because we have that information."
Guyra's Ian Russell and Armidale musicians will provide live background music.
The Rotary Club of Guyra received funding from the Regional Bank this year, and have applied for more through the national organisation.
The club will also host a Christmas Carnival in December, so the community can enjoy themselves, and escape the trials and tribulations of the drought for a little.
"Everyone's in the same boat," Ms Mulligan said. "A lot of the Rotarians are farmers as well. We know what it's like, and as a little town, we look after each other. If you need someone, just ask."
