In a massive coup for the town, a weatherproof grandstand will be built after the community voted for the project.
The scheme saw 43 projects in the Northern Tablelands electorate put forward with two, including the Guyra grandstand, successful.
The all weather grandstand idea was submitted by Guyra junior rugby league president Gina Lockyer who said the $120,000 upgrade is a much needed one.
"There is absolutely no seating whatsoever at the complex," Lockyer said.
"When you go to other sporting venues you could sit but at Guyra there was absolutely nothing there so we thought we would put in for a grant and see if we can get it.
"To give us the opportunity too hold other sporting events there, not just for junior league, rugby union, senior league, cricket.
"So it gives people the opportunity to hold carnivals and championships.
"I think it will be one of the best sporting venues in New England.
"We have got a great complex that the community and other sporting clubs worked hard to get so this is just really icing on the cake."
With Guyra often boasting four seasons in one day, the new grandstand will provide seating out of the rain, snow and hot sun.
Lockyer was rapt with the community response to getting the project up and running.
"When it is solely just based on votes, it is pretty awesome to get," she said.
"It is just really unbelievable, it just gives you something positive to think about.
"They can hold other events up there, it just doesn't have to be sporting events."
Lockyer said they are aiming to have the project completed before the commencement of the 2020 rugby league season.
She also said they will aim to employ local businesses to build the facility.
