Northern Tablelands weather: August 18 set to be a warm one

A week is a big difference in the world of weather.

Just last weekend we saw snow around the region with temperatures topping out in the single figures in some areas but there's going to be a spring surprise come this weekend

You'll still need to rug up in the morning - temperatures will go close to freezing overnight across the weekend - but the days are set to get as high as 27 degrees, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

Sunday is the day to get out there and really enjoy the weather.

Armidale will hit 20 degrees on Sunday, Inverell will peak at 23 while Moree will reach 27.

Glen Innes is expected to get to 19, and Walcha 18.

It's a stark comparison to last weekend where Armidale had a high of 8 degrees. Guyra was one of the coldest places in the region with a top of 5.2.

Before we get to that warmer weather, we'll have to endure a frost on Thursday morning first.

Most of the region will wake up to a covering of frost tomorrow before temperatures rise.
