Council sustainability officer Sally Thorsteinsson said it was an opportunity to save thousands of litres of water.
"Installing water efficient devices is one of the easiest ways to improve water efficiency in your home," Ms Thorsteinsson said.
"I have an older model at home that we've used for years. They work, no problem."

She said upgrading from an old shower head, which typically used about 16 litres of water per minute, to the Methven, using about 7.5 litres per minute could save more than 30,000 litres of water every year for the average household.
"That also equates to massive water heating savings when you consider that electric hot water heating can account for up to one-third of a household's energy use," she said.
Council recommends residents act quickly because the offer is only available until the end of July, or until stocks run out.
To receive the Methven Satinjet Standard Hi-Rise Shower head free from council, property owners need to:
- Bring in their existing shower head (maximum of two per home)
- Provide a water notice for the home to prove address
- Complete the application form, which can be downloaded from Council's website, or printed copies are available from council's Guyra and Armidale offices
- Council recommends a licenced plumber remove and replace shower heads.
"Quality water efficient showerheads pay for themselves in reduced water usage and saved water heating costs - and Guyra households can get up to two shower heads for free through this program," Ms Thorsteinsson said.
"Water is critical everywhere, but it is very critical in Guyra at the moment because to the situation, with such a low dam."
