For parents and carers Centacare offers short courses such as Surviving your Adolescents and Keep calm they're just Kids to help with communication skills, and Love isn't all you Need, a program designed to help strengthen your relationship.

For young people, Resilient Kids helps primary school aged children with self-esteem and communication, while programs such as RAGE and SCREAM help young people deal with emotions such as anger and guilt.

"Our education courses are very popular," Ms Roberts said. "We have them for both adults and children, with programs designed to help you support your children, communicate with your adolescent and foster loving relationships."

If the relationship does need to come to an end, Centacare NENW provides qualified, professional mediation and dispute resolution services that focus on the family's and children's needs.
