Esther Wischer is organising a prayer meeting at the water tanks on Sunday afternoon, at 2pm.
"We'll pray to our God, the creator of the universe, and who holds everything in His hands," Mrs Wischer said. "We will ask Him to send rain."
While she is Christian, the meeting will be non-denominational. Whoever would like to pray is welcome to join.
"I know of somebody who isn't a Christian, doesn't believe in God, still saying we are so desperate for rain, that if you're having a prayer meeting, I'll come to it."

And Guyra desperately needs rain, Mrs Wischer points out.
"We have less than three months of water, and there's no forecast sign of rain.
"We need water in our dams, and we need the ground wet, so that when spring comes, there is moisture in the ground. A farmer friend of ours has put in crops, and there's just no growth; the seed-bed's not germinating; it's not coming on.
"We need enough rain to get us through. We need good, soaking, steady rain."
Although the state government has promised to ship water from Armidale, Mrs Wischer worries what will happen if the drought continues.
"Armidale's dam is already running low, and it will continue to go down," she said. "We can't be sure that will supply all the needs of Armidale and Guyra, and maybe Uralla, if necessary. There's just no assurance that water will last."
And prayer, Mrs Wischer believes, could be the answer to Guyra's water woes. She quoted 2 Chronicles 7:13-15.
"When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, ... if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place."
The text, she explained, said that if believers please God, he will bring rain. (It's not about people who don't believe in God.)
"As Christians, we need to stand true to our faith, and trust that if we do the right thing," Mrs Wischer said, "God will bless us, and bless our land where we live."
Mrs Wischer believes in the efficacy of prayer: she said she had seen a sick friend miraculously healed, she said, as was a sister-in-law dying of a very aggressive cancer.
"We prayed for her, and the doctors were absolutely mystified because that aggressive cancer became benign. Three years later, she is a well woman; they'd only given her a couple of months to live. I know that our God is in control, and that he answers prayer."
