Guyra junior rugby league will host Ashford in all grades from junior league tag and under 6s through to senior league tag this Saturday.
It will be the second game for all Guyra teams after a bye in round one and clashes against Armidale in round two.
While there is no senior rugby league in Guyra, a couple of juniors have made their way to Glen Innes to line up in the Magpies under 18 team.
Jack Lockyer and Dylan Sutton have played in the Magpies team twice for two wins against Tingha and Armidale.
After a bye last weekend for round three they make their way back on to the field for Glen Innes this Sunday against the Moree Boars.
As well as the Guyra duo, the Magpies team is made up of players from all around the region.
Coach Gavin Peterson is away but Glen Innes vice-president Sam Schiffmann said they have been preparing well for the coming clash.
"The juniors have come out of the blocks firing," he said.
"It is basically a northern NSW team; we have got players from Inverell, Glen Innes, Guyra, Armidale and Tenterfield.
"It is pretty widespread so it is hard to get them all together but they are training the house down."
Their round one match against Tingha resulted in a win, mostly due to their defence with most of the side playing together for the first time.
Schiffmann said they have started training together and their attack is starting to form.
"They can D [defence] up really well and I think it is just the fact they get an hour-and-a-half together every week on a Thursday night," he said.
"The first game, I was with Gav Peterson and we were looking through the registrations trying to put a team together going 'well who is this kid and where can he play?' but they came out and played pretty good footy.
"Gav has sort of got it all figured out in that respect on who can play where."
While Gavin Peterson is away, Danny Armstrong has taken the reins.
"Gav has gone away for three weeks and Danny Armstrong is doing a great job there, keeping them under control," Schiffmann said.
"Danny Armstrong is a bit of a master of a coach.
"He coached four years and coached three grand finals, lost one. That is A-grade, reserve grade and he coached under 14s to victory seven years back.
"It is good for the 18s and hopefully they can just keep building on their attack and what they can offer and they can go from strength-to-strength each week."
