Police officers, servicemen, health and wellbeing officers, Armidale Regional Council employees, and academics were among some 40 guests at Guyra Central School's Partnerships for Learning celebration morning tea on Thursday.

"The morning tea is an opportunity for us to say thank you to all of our community partners, to everyone who's helped us improve learning outcomes for our students," principal Michelle Nicholson said.
"It's also an opportunity for us to discuss and talk about our future partnerships."

Partnering with organisations and businesses both in Guyra and across NSW allowed the school to offer real-life learning opportunities to students, Mrs Nicholson said.
"It improves equity across the school and gives all of our students an opportunity to experience a range of things," she said.
Working with industry or directly with partners often offers an authenticity that classroom-based learning cannot provide.
The school's newest partnership is with the University of Sydney, and includes a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program for Year 5-8 students.
