Ms Lasker said a number of students were expected to take a gap year before entering into university, while many had also excelled in vocational courses and had completed their schooling with a dual qualification.
"Our school-based trainees will have the jump on other school-leavers as many have already taken up apprenticeships as a result of studying a vocational course at school," she said.
As principal of the soon to be built Armidale Secondary College Ms Lasker wished both classes of 2018 every success in their future studies, employment, travel or whatever their life’s journey led them to.
"Our schools – as Armidale Secondary College – have an ongoing focus on supporting our students to strive for excellence, whether is be academic, cultural, sporting or community based,” she said
