Running in North West colours six Guyra students – Johno Wilson, Rave Brazier, Oscar Atkin, Archie Dowden, Cooper Wilson and Parker Campbell – took on the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association athletics carnival in the track and field events.
At Sydney Olympic Park last Thursday, the relay team of Johno, Rave, Oscar and Archie finished with 20th in the state and a new personal best time of 55.16.
Their result in the relay saw them finish only two places shy of a spot in the final.
Oscar also ran in the 100m and 200m events, finishing 26th in a field of 39 in the 200m.
Archie also put in a huge effort to run in the 800m.
Parker ran in the 100m as well as the relay.
Cooper showed his strength in the shot put and discus events as well.
Parents and spectators applauded the Guyra boys for their efforts throughout the course of the carnival.
