Roads and maintenance of the village centre will be key topics when Ben Lomond hosts the next Councillors’ Cuppa information session on Wednesday next week.

The informal session at Ben Lomond Hall, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, will be a chance for residents to chat to the elected members and raise any council-related topic that is important to them.

Maintenance of Moredun Road in particular is expected to be high on the agenda, Armidale Regional Council Mayor Simon Murray said.

The Councillors’ Cuppa community information sessions were launched this year so residents had greater access to the elected members and to give Council representatives further insight to issues relevant to centres throughout the Armidale region.

“Come enjoy a free barbecue and a brew and tell us about the priorities for your area,” Cr Murray said.

The evening will also include a resumption of the Ben Lomond Local Advisory Committee, which will meet at the hall from 7.30pm. Local Advisory Committees operate in a number of centres throughout the region, liaising with Council to identify issues and priorities for their locality.

The series of Councillors’ Cuppas will continue with forums at the Boorolong Woolshed, on October 13, and Ebor Public School on November 18. Dates for other centres in 2019 will be confirmed soon.
