Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall announced the $250,000 of funding when he visit to the hospital this morning and said the funding would be spent to enhance play space area, extra security and other improvements, such as bathrooms and such.
It’s happening at the best time it could happen, with all the other work going on around the place.

“It is a bit of a coup for us as only one of eight hospitals,” Mr Marshall said.
“This making the paediatric unit more comfortable for families and for youngsters, and it’s quite timely that we do this, while we’re in the final stages of the whole $60 million redevelopment.”
General manager of the Tablelands Sector of Hunter New England Health Wendy Mulligan said she thought the work could be completed as soon as early next year.
“This will be good for the kids,” Mrs Mulligan said.

“The paediatric ward was done up a few years ago and we have done a little bit of work, but this will just make it better for the kids and the parents who are there as well.
“This is for children from babies to 18-year-olds, so it’s being able to make it appropriate for all different ages to use.”
