Mitchell qualified for the NSW Combined High Schools championships in four events – 100m, 200m, high jump and long jump.
She wasn’t the only Guyra student to qualify for multiple events at the state titles with others placing first or second in their events.
Shanae Bull will compete in the 12-year-old girls 100m and 200m.
Jake Wilson’s second placings in the high jump and 400m race earned him a spot in the 14-year-old boys category.
Riley Campbell will also attend the state event in Sydney after winning his 100m sprint.
Matthew Sisson rounds out the Guyra students who will attend after he finished second in the 800m.
A handful of locals missed out on selection but placed high in their events at the North West carnival.
Tahmani Landsborough finished third in the 13-year-old boys 800m, fifth in the 200m and fifth in the javelin.
Kiesha Landsborough earned fourth in the 13-year-old girls 200m and fifth in the 800m.

Five new records were set at the carnival with Quirindi High School’s Lacie Quigley claiming two of them. One of the records Quigley broke was her own mark set the previous year in the 14 years 1500m.
Quigley then broke K Beattie’s record, which was set in 1991, in the 14 years 3000m event by about 17 seconds.
Narrabri High School’s Bella Stewart set a new mark of 1.68m in the 17 years and over high jump.
Glen Innes High School’s Kaleb Hope was also a record breaker with his throw of 41.92m in the 13 years javelin to beat T Lane of Coonamble High School’s record of 41.11m from 1999.
Quirindi High School’s Lachlan Tydings threw 52.01m in the 17 years and over discus to beat Tenterfield High School’s Chris Mikkleson’s 2003 record of 51.3m. In total, 193 students from North West Schools qualified to compete at the state carnival in Sydney on September 5-7.
