The Super Spuds upset the Tigers in Uralla in the final round of the season with a 36-10 win and will be hoping to do the same again when they face them in Saturday’s major semi-final.
Guyra have spent the week off sharpening their game plan for the encounter and player-coach Anthony Dittman said they’re just aiming to keep their momentum going.
“Team is looking good. Training has been good,” he said.
“We have just been doing the same preparation last few weeks not going to change to much as it seem to be working for us lately.
“Consistency is a big thing come finals just need to complete sets and play smart footy.
“A little error and teams like Uralla can take advantage of it.”
Uralla had wrapped up the minor premiership prior to their last meeting but with hosting rights for the grand final on offer this Saturday, there is more at stake for both teams.
Dittman is aware the Tigers will be aiming up in the coming clash but his hoping his team can lift again and earn the right to host the decider.
“We know what we have to do come game day and it will be all hands on deck,” he said.
“We know Uralla are going to come out a different team and we just have got to be prepared.
“Boys are keen, the town’s keen. It would mean a lot landing a grand final for us and for the town.”
The first match of the day will be the league tag semi-final between the Uralla Tigers and Walcha Jillaroos beginning at 12pm.
