The hosts fired in the opening stages of the second stanza to close the gap before Guyra regained their composure and scored a late double to seal the win 36-24.
“[It] was great win for us and well deserved,” player-coach Anthony Dittman said.
“We knew Warialda were going to come out firing and we had to as well. We knew we had to out muscle them.
“It all happened in the first-half for us, [it was] probably one of the best first halves we have had.

“We came out strong in the second-half but feel asleep in the last 15 minutes which led to them scoring two or three tries in-a-row.
“The forwards played a good roll leading us forward and us backs just played off the back of them.”
The final two rounds are split over three weeks with Guyra having this weekend off before they play their final home game on July 28.
“Byes are always good but we need that momentum coming into finals. [We will] have a rest this weekend and hopefully come back hooking in,” Dittman said.
In the league tag, the Spudettes couldn’t make it back-to-back triumphs with a 30-14 loss against Warialda.
