Donning commemorative jerseys in honour of long-time supporter Aub Gillespie, the Tenterfield team showed tenacity to only be trailing Uralla 14-6 at half-time.
In the second stanza, Tenterfield clawed their way back to 14-10 and with two minutes left on the clock, made a break and came agonisingly close to claiming the win.
They were denied by Uralla’s defence and the scoreline remained in favour of the visitors.
“We gave them the biggest scare they have had all year,” Tenterfield coach Wayne Minns said.
“We kept them scoreless in the second-half. I am really proud of the girls and their whole effort.
“They showed what they could have done during the year had they played games like that during the year, we would be a lot further up the competition ladder I think.
“We let it slip down at Walcha but it was a big turnaround against Uralla.”
Uralla haven’t been beaten all year in the league tag and Tenterfield set about making them work for the win.

“Their [Uralla] set play got us early in the first-half but once we worked out their set plays, we virtually shut them down,” Minns said.
“It was a pretty full-on game an I am very proud of the effort the girls put in, they really excelled. Being such a special day too, it was our Aub's day and Aub was one of the biggest admirers of our girls team ever.
“They would have done him real proud.
“Our girls can hold their head and we might finish off the season like it could have been.”
The Tigers girls have two games left in their season and will be hoping to make an impression, starting against Ashford this Saturday.
“We will have a couple of girls back that weren't there on the weekend so hopefully we can keep that momentum going and just work on a couple of little things at training and get back on track,” Minns said.
“That is what I am looking for, to finish the year off strong now and get people thinking about us for next year.”
