Australians might like to think that their pubs are legendary - those great palaces on corners in country towns, with verandas and cast iron railings. But Pommie, Steve Evans, will explain why they are a great disappointment. In his outsider's view, they are dying and he isn't shedding any tears.
“But it’s rare, one of the last of a dying breed. I have to break it to you that the great Australian boozer is becoming a fiction,” he says.
“Small town pubs are often colonised by the miseries.”
