The ladies league tag side flew home for a 22-6 win over the Tigerettes while the men’s team were outpaced by the hosts.
The league taggers surged to a 12-nil lead by the break with Taleah Byers and Taylor Waters bagging a converted try each.
A Sharnie Cullen-solo effort saw the Spudettes post the first points of the second half and extend their lead to 18-nil.
The home side hit back via Kimbellie Johnson to reduce the gap back to 18-6 but it wasn’t enough as Sophie Gaukroger hit back for the Spudettes to land them the win.

The men’s game was a different story with the Spuds slumping to a 38-6 loss.
Guyra dwarfed their opponents in size but the speed of Tenterfield proved too much for Super Spuds side lacking numbers.
“We were a bit sluggish,” Spuds president Mick Wilson said.
“They were quick and pretty well drilled but we had a few first timers play as well and they caught us out on the edges a few times.
“We have a lot of improvement and once we get a few back we will be right.
“They weren't physical but they were just quick.”
The Super Spuds hope their players return for round two when they play Uralla Tigers at home who made a statement in round one with a 48-4 drubbing of the Walcha Roos.
