The six players in the C grade side – Andrew White, Nick Pearce, Cody Berry, Steph Grills, Sara Hancock and Sam Speedy – all played their part in landing the trophy.
The accolades for the Guyra club didn’t finish there with Berry named C grade’s best number three.
The Guyra D grade team of Rob and Tim Finlayson, Andrea Vivers, Sophie McKemey, Charlie Fittler and Hamish Pearce missed out on winning their division, going down to Grafton in the final.
The junior team of Augustus White, Mac, Isaac and Alice Finlayson and Bridget and Claudia McKemey were also runners-up in their grade with Zac picking up the award for best number one and Mac winning the best number two.
Quirindi won the A grade competition while Bunnan-Muswellbrook finished as winners in the B grade.
“They had a couple of close games but they came out winners,” Guyra Polocrosse Club member Katrina McKemey said.
In two weeks, six families from the club will head to one of the biggest events on the sport’s calendar – the Junior Classic and coaching week in Albury.
Junior players spend a week in Albury under the guidance of the country’s best coaches with the chance to be selected to play in the Classic.
The Classic competition is held in conjunction with the Silver Stirrup and Bronze Bit women’s competition from April 20.
“There's six families heading down there for the coaching and the carnival,” McKemey said.
“We are going for the Junior Classic and we are hoping some of our juniors or sub-juniors will get selected for that.”
The success in the sport for the Guyra club doesn’t finish there with junior member Brooke Grills turning out at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in a polocrosse showcase.
