Stage One Yellow and Stage One Purple students from Guyra Central School participated in the federal government’s Sporting Schools grant, which encourages children to be active and healthy.
“Participating students had a fantastic time during their first lesson, and look forward to continue learning and developing new skills,” a spokesman for the school said.

The Sporting Schools program is a $160 million initiative designed to help schools increase children’s participation in sport, and connect them with community sporting opportunities. It focuses on fundamental movement patterns that help children progress and develop skills.
The program finishes in March. Stage One Teal and Early Stage One Orange students will take part in the program next term.
