The group of 14 raised more than $3,000 and clocked up 4,666km to raise money to fight kids’ cancer.
“The sponsorship is very heart warning, especially by our youngest member Peta Kerr who came home in first position,” team member Dave Mills said.
Peta, 10, raised $680 for the cause.
She was rushed to John Hunter Hospital earlier this year for emergency surgery to remove a tumour at the back of her neck.
Team member Jenni Jackson said she was very thankful for everyone’s support.
“I was really good,” she said.
The Great Cycle Challenge is one of Australia’s biggest cycling events and this year nationally had more than 11,000 riders raising over $3 million.
It’s all about supporting research into a disease which more than 600 children are diagnosed with every year and three die every week.
