The area allows students to learn through their senses in a new environment.
With a large sandpit, garden to be planted by the students, water-play area, play tables, life-size chess board, softfall number snake and alphabet snail – it’s got everything a kid could want.
The area was completed with the help of Rob, Mel, Sam and Jemima Atkin.
Adrian, BJ and Steph Cameron, Gill Davis, Mark, Ella and Lucas Atkin – as well as Helen and David Bearup helped with the build.
“Your handy skills and commitment are truly appreciated,” a Guyra Central School spokesperson said.

Sensory Learning Areas are especially beneficial for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, according to the Department of Education.
It allows students to use sight, hearing, taste, balance and touch to learn.
