A team of 15 from Guyra Central School travelled to the carnival in Tamworth last Tuesday.
All students competed to the best of their ability and achieved some wonderful results, many receiving personal bests in their selected events.
All students showed the school’s core values and great sportsmanship.
The school had five North West champions, which is amazing for a small school.
Bailey Wilson finished first in shot put, Tahmani Landsborough first in 800m, Matthew Sisson first in 800m, Eva Knox first in both 800m and 1500m and Kelsie Youman first in 800m and 1500m.
These students will travel to Olympic Park in Sydney to compete in the CHS State athletics titles from September 6-8.
A mention again to those students that turn up to Mrs Nadine Youman’s training sessions every Wednesday in sometimes very ordinary weather conditions. All your hard work has certainly paid off.
Congratulations on all efforts by all students.
