In preparation for the Premier’s Spelling Bee, students have been practising their list words and learning to be confident in their spelling abilities through a school-based competition recently.
GCS teacher Kirsten Reim said last Wednesday student’s spelling was put to the test in the Primary Spelling Bee.
“Almost all students from Early Stage 1 to Stage 3 participated in the event, showing their great dedication to learning and to representing Guyra Central School,” she said.
“Students displayed confidence and good sportsmanship.”
Winners of the Primary Spelling Bee include Tom Ward, Elsa Kliendienst, Liam Hutton, Alana Marshall, Elizabeth Evers, Lincoln Brown, Kye Raper and Ellie Mitchell.
“We wish them the best of luck in the regional round and are very proud of the achievements thus far,” Ms Reim said.
