Safer roads, water security and policies that would support small and large-scale agricultural business – that’s what Guyra wants to see from the future federal member of New England.

And the word on Bradley Street this week supported that.

“We had secure water for years and now we don’t,” Deirdre Tarrant said.

“I want to see Barnaby Joyce return to power and I’m really angry we’re wasting all this money on stupid by-elections.”

WE WANT BARNABY BACK: Deirdre Tarrant with the "pilates ladies" at Caffiends in Guyra say we shouldn't be wasting money on another by-election.

Tenterfield resident John Burgess said he’d like to see a “decent politician”.

“Roads are a major concern in all this area, the roads are terrible,” he said.

“The major highways are disgusting.”

WE NEED A RAIL TRAIL: Christine Gellie says Guyra needs to keep focused on building a better main street and pushing forward for a rail trail.
