The new licence will use the existing smartphone app that offers licences for fishing, boating and gambling. Now, a voluntary trial of digital drivers’ licences will take place at Dubbo, a city in the central west of NSW.
Finance Minister Victor Dominello said NSW would be the first to trial the new technology. If successful, the digital drivers’ licence would be implemented in 2019.
