The round nine encounter was switched with Moree’s home round and it proved fruitful for Guyra as they dominated every game to send their opposition home winless.
The under 8s clash saw a high pointscoring affair but it was the host side who came out on top.
They posted a 36 points to 28 win.
The under 10s again had a pointscoring blitz and delivered a 58 to 10 thumping to their opponents.
The under 12s dominated their match and beat the Boars 38 to 14.
Moree were unfortunately unable to bring a junior league tag team to the top of the range so the Guyra girls won on forfeit.
As a result, the Moree girls who made the trek across were able to play a non-competitive fixture with players from all grades which proved to be an excellent training run for all involved.
Up-and-coming referee Alistair Connors once again officiated games and earned the praise of parents and spectators.
Connors also took charge of the Group 19 versus Group 4 under 12s representative match on Saturday in Barraba.
Tom Lockyer, Marty Ryan and Tahmani Landsborough were part of the team and were coached by Peter Presnell.
The round was played as part of the NSW Office of Sport’s Shoosh for Kids week.
The initiative runs from May 15 to 21 and encourages sporting clubs and players to stamp out negative behaviour.
This Saturday the club is back at their home ground for round 10.
They will face Uralla who have had some unlucky losses this year.
Under 8s start the day at 10am, the junior league tag team play at 10.50am, the under 10s are at 11.40am and the under 12s will line up at 12.30pm.
