Two students at Guyra Central School have received a heartwarming splash of cash to help with their education.

Year nine student Colleen Pearson was presented with a cheque as part of the Marjorie Glasser scholarship.

The funds were donated by the late Ms Glasser who was a member of the Guyra Branch of the CWA.

Coincidentally, Ms Glasser’s first appointment as a school teacher was to Brockley Public School, which was located in the same district that Ms Pearson is from.

The scholarship was first awarded to Colleen in 2015 with annual funding of $200 until 2019.

Year nine Steph Cameron has been awarded The Jopling education grant which is a state wide grant for children and grandchildren of current CWA members.

The Jopling education grant was a result of Mildred Jopling who was a school teacher at Sydney Church of England Girls Grammar School.

Applications open for CWA of NSW Education Grants on August 1 and close on September 30.
