Charlie Ward picked up two major awards including the highest individual pointscore under 17 and the highest overall. Nick Ward also claimed the senior highest individual pointscore.
Guyra finished second to Glen Innes in the clubs’ tally and publicity officer Ellen Light said it was great to receive that result.
“Guyra has done okay in the past but this was the best year yet,” she said. “The sub-junior team of fours won their workout and won the highest scoring sub-junior team. The junior team fours won their workout.
“We had a member or two in nearly every age group final for the flag and bends.”
Mackenzie Ellem, Charlie Ward, McCormack Finlayson, Alice Finlayson and Nicholas Ward won age champions while Abbie Kelly, Claudia McKemey and Robert Sisson were runners up. Light said the 19 members who were there took every opportunity to cheer on their peers in the finals.
“[They enjoyed] the team spirit and cheering for teammates in the finals and in the heats,” she said.
Guyra now get back into regular rally days until competitions return.
Next year’s jamboree will be hosted by the local club who hope to continue their success in the arena.
