From the first ball, which Wolfenden dispatched to the boundary, it was clear that the visitors were in for a long day. He brought up his 50 in the eighth over and his hundred in the 18th.
Club President and umpire James Stewart was on hand to witness the innings.
“Shane never looked troubled and steamed on to pass 150 with little effort,” he said.
“The Easts bowlers had no answer to his onslaught, which included 31 fours and four sixes.
“He had a double century in his sights, and time was running out with just one over left to get 15 runs.
“The first three balls went for four, then unfortunately Easts managed to get one through his defence.
“However, it takes nothing away from what was a well-made 197.”
Guyra finished the day on 7 for 350, with father and son Adrian (39) and BJ Cameron (59) also making good contributions. BJ’s innings followed on from a knock of 87 not out for the under 16 team earlier in the day.
Easts were never in the hunt and capitulated in the 23rd over to be all out for 128, with Charles Rao, BJ Cameron and Simon Brown taking two wickets each.
The third grade team had their first outing for the year and came away with a loss against TAS. Second grade have the bye this weekend and the 3rd grade team will take on Ex-Services at home
